Hailing from Tunis, Tunisia, Moez Bensalem was far away from the smell, look and taste of his beautiful homeland. While he could not recapture the look, he was determined to bring back the smell and taste of the hummus and mediterranean salads from his flavorful and beautiful country. Within a few years, Moez has created a masterful hummus following on the central coast, with headquarters in San Luis Obispo, and products lining the wall of numerous Whole Foods and other specialty grocery stores, health-food stores and farmer’s markets spread far and wide.
“I’ve always had a passion for food, but I couldn’t find the same freshness and spices that we used back home,” Moez. “I started experimenting with different flavors and the company was born…I never looked back.”
In an effort to provide the freshest products, Moez built a state-of-the-art kitchen, makes his food products daily, and even grows his own beans in the California Central Valley.
